Design Notes

In the original plasmid provided, the Delta-mCherry sequence did not have a stop codon, resulting in plasmid read-through of about nine additional amino acids; our Delta-mCherry includes a stop codon immediately after the mCherry sequence. Both plasmids are phenotypically correct.


Source

This part is composed of the Delta-3 ligand from Rattus norvegicus and the synthetic mCherry fluorescent protein engineered from the green fluorescent protein isolated from Aequorea victoria. Additionally, the sequence for this part was included in a plasmid provided to the MIT iGEM 2011 team courtesy of the Elowitz lab at Caltech.
